«Infectious Diseases: Innovating for Global Health»
DMCCB Basel Symposium 2027 «Infectious Diseases: Innovating for Global Health»
This one-day symposium, organized by the Swiss Chemical Society, Division Medicinal Chemistry and Chemical Biology, is dedicated to the theme «Infectious Diseases: Innovating for Global Health». Infectious diseases remain a major global health challenge. Emerging pathogens, antimicrobial resistance, and the persistent burden of bacterial, viral, fungal, and parasitic infections emphasize the urgent need for innovative treatments. Advances in medicinal chemistry, chemical biology, structural biology, and computational design are creating new opportunities to accelerate the discovery of anti-infective agents. The DMCCB Basel Symposium 2027 will bring together leading experts from academia, biotechnology, and the pharmaceutical industry to present the latest developments in infectious disease research and drug discovery. From novel antimicrobial modalities and host-directed therapies to strategies for overcoming resistance, the symposium will highlight approaches shaping the future of infectious disease therapeutics. Designed for professionals and students alike, the event will foster scientific exchange and collaboration across disciplines. Join us in Basel and be part of the discussion addressing some of the most pressing challenges in global health.
